Moen MotionSense vs Delta Touch2O

Are you also planning to remodel your kitchen? Confused about which faucet will be the best for you to buy, just like me? Well, since I have been through the same confusion, I am here to help you out decide.

Faucets are one of our most essential things in the kitchen. It not only reduces our workload but also helps us beautify the kitchen interiors. However, several brands of faucets in the market sometimes make it difficult for us to choose the right one. I got my kitchen remodelled last year. While looking for faucets even I was pretty confused about which faucet to install. It was then some of my friends suggested me some of the best. Among them, the most suggested ones were the Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet by Delta and the 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet by Moen.

But before buying a faucet it is important for you to keep your budget and requirements in mind. Delta and Moen are two of the well-reputed brands that fit in most people’s budgets and fulfil their requirements. However, the confusion still remains! Which one among this two will be better? In order to clear this confusion, I tried comparing the two and check out their reviews.

Delta’s Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet

When I looked up for this faucet, I found out that this brand is one of the youngest faucet brands in the market and the spray head designs that are so popular these days were first introduced to the market by Delta Faucets. They have extended the washerless designs beyond kitchen faucets to bathroom and shower faucets as well.

Well if we check about the technology used in the Delta faucets, we will see that until now the Delta brand has incorporated Touchless technology only in their bathroom faucets. In case of the kitchen faucets, they incorporate the Touch20 technology. This technology allows the user to activate the faucet just by tapping anywhere on the faucet. This technology helps you especially when you want to activate the faucets but your hands are either dirty or busy. You can just use your wrist or forearm to tap on the faucet and it gets activated. Moreover, it also helps to keep the faucet cleaner. Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet, which happens to be one of the most recommended faucet design of the Delta brand, incorporates the Touch20 technology. As mentioned earlier, in order to turn on these faucets, you can touch anywhere on the kitchen spout with either your wrist or forearm or do it manually with the help of the single lever handle. The Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet also allows you to check the water temperature with the help of the TempSense LED indicator that changes color to reflect water temperature.

Now, if you consider the spray pattern of the faucet, other than the regular stream, Delta faucets offer an extra spray pattern, which makes cleaning chores more effective. On some of their faucets, they allow you to toggle between the regular stream and different spray patterns. You can also switch to the Spotshield spray pattern. The Spotshield spray pattern provides a jet of water, which is concentrated within a protective sphere and is very effective for cleaning purposes and leaves a minimum mess. However, Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet comes with the Touch-clean spray pattern, which helps in wiping away mess quickly and easily.

Next, if you look into the pull-down design, Delta faucets feature their own pull-down design known as the MagnaTite technology. This design features a powerful magnet, which is built at the end of the spout. This magnet helps in keeping the wand in its place when the spray head is not in use and when it needs to be used, all you need to do is give it a gentle tug. The Trinsic Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Sink Faucet also comes with Delta’s very own MagnaTite docking which uses a powerful magnet, at the end of the spout, to snap the sprayer in its place when the spray head is not in use so that it does not droop and stays docked. When it needs to be used, all you need to do is give it a gentle tug.

In addition to these, this faucet also comes with a patented Diamond seal technology, which not only helps in reducing the leak points and ensuring leak-free operation of the faucet but also makes it lasts twice as long as the regular faucets. Moreover, this Delta faucet is designed in such a way that the installing and cleaning of the faucet is easier and is backed by Delta’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Moen’s 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet

Talking about the technology used, the Moen brand uses Motionsense technology in their faucets. Faucets that use this technology incorporates either one or two sensors, one on the top of the sprout and the other in the base of the faucet. This technology allows turning on the water by placing a hand or any other object in front of the sensor. Turning off is also as easy as turning on, it just needs a wave, either by your hand or by any other object. The Moen 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet incorporates the Motionsense technology. This technology makes turning on and turning off the faucet a lot easier for you and allows hands-free and touchless convenience with the help of two sensors.

Now, if you consider the spray pattern, other than the regular stream, the Moen brand faucets offer different spray patterns such as Power Clean, Boosted Spray, and Boosted Stream. The Power Clean spray pattern provides a powerful jet of water, which is concentrated and has 50% more spray power than that of the other regular faucets. These spray patterns are very effective for cleaning purposes. The Moen 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet also comes with the Power Clean spray pattern, which makes them more effective for cleaning purposes and leaves a minimum mess.

Now coming to the pull-down design, the Moen brand has designed its own pull-down design, which is known as the Reflex system. This design features an easily controllable spray head and a flexible hose, which together give you an ample range of motion and easy one-hand operation. This also offers smooth withdrawal of the spray head and automatics return to its initial position. The Moen 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet also comes with Moen’s self-designed reflex system. Hence, it allows easy control over the spray head and easy one-hand operation along with the smooth withdrawal of the spray head and its secure and automatic docking.

Besides all this, the Moen 7594ESRS Arbor Motionsense Two-Sensor Touchless One-Handle Pull-down Kitchen Faucet comes with a very flexible design, which makes the installing and cleaning of the faucet is easier, and it is also backed by a limited lifetime warranty by Moen.

Choosing one over the other: Moen Motion Sense or Delta Touch2O

After I carefully looked into the details of the two faucets, I found both of them equally good but settled for the Delta one, especially because of its Touch20 technology and the patented Diamond seal technology, which is accompanied with the MagnaTite docking. Trust me I don’t regret my decision. I installed the faucet a year ago, it still works fine and I haven’t had to replace the batteries yet. When I had checked the reviews of this faucet, I had found a lot of people complaining about its automatic turn off not working. However, according to my personal experience, the faucet just takes a time of about 4 minutes to turn off automatically. If you leave the faucet open for this time, you will easily be able to witness the faucet’s auto turn off. By installing the smart faucet in my kitchen, I fell in love with my kitchen all over again. I now prefer staying more in my kitchen not because I don’t have to continuously clean the sink area but because it feels really good after the installation of this faucet.
